Which countries can I apply to with New Connections?

New Connections International works with six destinations: Ireland, Spain, Malta, the United Kingdom, the United States and Dubai. In Ireland, where the agency is based, we arrange English courses with Stamp 2 work permission, professional internships and degree programmes; in Spain, paid internships, master's degrees in Valencia and preparation for the selectividad university entrance exam; in Malta, English courses and higher education; in the United Kingdom and the United States, general, intensive and professional English courses; and in Dubai, undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA and PhD programmes at the British University in Dubai. We also run summer camps in Madrid and Paris with Schiller International University.

How much does your guidance cost?

Guidance from New Connections International is personal and free of charge: we do not charge fees for helping you choose a programme, prepare your documents, handle the paperwork or find accommodation. There are no additional costs for our service. What you do pay for are the programme costs themselves, such as the institution's tuition, medical insurance or accommodation.

Can you work in Ireland on a student visa?

Yes. The study and work visa allows you to work up to 20 hours a week during term time and up to 40 hours a week during holidays. It can be renewed for up to two years in total.

How long is an English course in Ireland?

English courses run for 25 weeks, with 15 to 20 hours of class a week. Courses start every Monday of the year, except on bank holidays.

What is the minimum wage in Ireland?

The minimum wage in Ireland is 14.15 euro an hour, one of the highest in Europe.

What level of English do I need before I travel?

You do not need any previous level for English courses: everyone takes a placement test on arrival, whether in Ireland, Malta, the United Kingdom or the United States. Professional internships in Ireland ask for intermediate English (B1) or IELTS 3.5. University programmes in Spain and Dubai apply the level set by each institution.

The cultural experience here runs deep: its respected institutions welcome students from all over the world, and the Irish are known for being warm and welcoming.
